J. Roger Martin, CCIM is a Realtor in Portland Oregon specializing in brokerage activities for investors and commercial buyers and sellers of real estate. Roger also acts as a consultant for investors and Realtors focusing on the analysis of property and the structuring of Tax Deferred Exchanges.

Roger Martin started in the real estate business in 1959. He was in the residential market for the first 10 years both as a sales person and as manager of a residential branch office. In 1969 and 1970 Roger completed all of the required courses leading to the C.C.I.M. designation. He was the first person in Oregon to earn the Certified-Commercial-Investment-Member status in the national CCIM Institute. He started the Roger Martin Company in 1975 and for many years had a sales force of up to fourteen people.

In 1986 Roger developed and started marketing REA/L Estate Analysis Software. It is a complete computer program for the evaluation of all financial aspects of real estate. There are now over 40 applications that work with Lotus or Excel.

Roger has instructed classes on the Federal income tax laws and the evaluation of real estate investments for over 20 years. He has taught the REALTOR Institute classes thoughout the west on these topics. Other computer oriented classes on investment analysis have been held at the University of Oregon and Apple Computers.

In recent years, Roger Martin, CCIM has concentrated his brokerage activities to representing investors and commercial users of real estate. Completing the appropriate investment analysis and structuring of tax deferred exchanges are his speciality.

CONSULTING

Mr. Martin is often retained as a consultant. He represents investors and often acts as a consultant for REALTORS doing investment analysis and structuring of property exchanges.
